Amigurumi is an ancient art whose foundations were laid in Japan. The name comes from the Japanese words ami- (knit) and nuigurumi- (stuffed doll). It is not known exactly when handmade dolls, small animals and souvenirs began to establish themselves in the tradition of everyday life, but towards the end of the 20th century this art returned as a fashion trend in Japan. Small crocheted figurines are capturing hearts and more and more people are starting to make them. The miniature products in the form of dolls, small animals, plants, etc. must have eyes and a mouth, which gives them life.

In the 21st century, the fashion trend in this type of art was imposed to such an extent that a Japanese association "Amigurumi" was founded.
The Internet contributes enormously to the distribution of crochet patterns. The videos teach beginners visually and more and more people are starting to create amigurumi in our country as well. The production of larger and larger figures is coming, more and more people are developing their creativity.
